Our story
Lumec began in 1972 with a single idea: modernize the beloved classic lantern style of luminaire with high-performance optical technology. From there, the product line grew and entered the global market. In 1993, Lumec expanded operations and opened the factory in Boisbriand, Quebec, where it has been designing and manufacturing its products ever since. Lumec joined the Genlyte Group in 2006 and continues to pioneer LED lighting solutions.
We maintain a dedicated in-house team of engineers, designers, technicians, and specialists, all dedicated to creating the best outdoor lighting products the world has ever seen. We don’t simply manufacture luminaires, but design them from the ground up, including our own R&D, optics design, and metal foundry. It is this dedication that makes us leading innovators and creators.
