Declare: The Nutrition Label for Building Products

The Declare Label is an initiative of the International Living Future Institute, an organization advocating for a more resilient future through the use of regenerative materials and "healthy products."

Declare is one part of Living Future's strategic plan to support harmonious living between people and the planet, and serves as a transparency platform and product database that makes it easier to find healthy products for upcoming building projects.

Declare labeling allows manufacturers to demonstrate market leadership in the growing movement toward product transparency and health in the built environment!

Understanding The Declare Label

Declared

Products disclose 100% of ingredients present in the final product but contain one or more Red List chemicals that are not covered by an approved exception.

These labels are used by designers and operators to specify products they trust and meet the requirements of leading green building standards, including the Core Green Building, LBC, LEED, and WELL Certifications.

LBC Red List Approved

Products disclose a minimum of 99% of ingredients present in the final product and meet the LBC Red List Imperative requirements through one or more approved exceptions.

Declare labels disclose all intentionally added ingredients and residuals at or above 100ppm (0.01%) present in the final product by weight.

LBC Red List Free

Products disclose 100% of ingredients present at or above 100 ppm (0.01%) in the final product and do not contain any Red List chemicals.

Each ingredient is reported with a chemical name, CAS number, and percentage or percentage range.

Tunable White solutions can easily change LED intensities and correlated color temperature (CCT) from warm white (2700K) all the way to cool white (6500K). Separate control inputs for intensity and CCT ensure the color temperature remains constant when the intensity is adjusted. By adjusting the intensity of each color, the fixture can produce a wide range of color temperatures.
